What happens after I apply?
Your application will be reviewed to confirm eligibility. If accepted, you will receive an email with instructions to enroll in the program.

Is there any reason my application would not be accepted? To be eligible for acceptance, all required coursework must be completed before submitting your application. If this requirement has not yet been met, your application will be deferred to a future cohort.

What if I took the courses ages ago? Would I be prepared? If it has been several years since you completed the required coursework, we recommend reviewing the updated material to ensure you are working from the most current framework. An optional course update is available through Teachable for a reduced rate of only $37! To access this, simply email your course completion certificate to info@kidsbowelbladder.com

Is this relevant for both PTs and OTs? Absolutely. PPHAP was purpose-built for both professions. The capstone is assessed within your own scope of practice and professional framework.

How long does the program take? Once the prerequisite courses have been completed, the program is designed to be completed in approximately 4 months alongside clinical work. It is self-paced with component guidelines and capstone deadlines.

How much time should I anticipate to complete the Capstone? 80-100 hours is estimated to complete the certificate program once the prerequisite coursework has been completed.

What is the capstone? The capstone is a multi-component competency assessment using a real, de-identified case from your own practice. It includes 4 components

  • a recorded video clinical reasoning walkthrough
  • case documentation
  • reflective self-assessment
  • a clinical practice resource or position statement.

How long does the application process take?
Applications are reviewed within a few days after the application window closes. Notifications are sent shortly after review is complete.

Is this a certification or a certificate? PPHAP is a certificate program — a completion-based credential awarded on demonstrated competency. It is not a third-party credentialing body certification, but rather, a rigorous, renewable certificate. Graduates are listed on the Kids Bowel and Bladder Graduate Registry for patient referrals and more! Stay tuned!

Can I use “PPHAP” after my name once I complete the program?

Upon successful completion of the PPHAP Certificate Program, you are welcome to list your credential as “PPHAP Certificate” on your CV, LinkedIn profile, or professional biography. We recommend writing it out rather than using bare initials, as this helps colleagues, employers, and patients understand the nature and scope of the credential. For example: Jane Smith, PT, DPT — PPHAP Certificate or Jane Smith, PT, DPT, PPHAP Certificate.

Because the use of post-nominal designations in healthcare is sometimes governed by licensing boards or professional associations, we encourage you to check with your relevant regulatory body (e.g., your state PT or OT board, APTA, or AOTA) before using any credential designation in a clinical or regulated professional context.

What happens after I graduate? Upon completion, you will receive your PPHAP certificate, be listed on the Graduate Registry, and gain access to the PPHAP graduate community. The PPHAP designation also serves as a prerequisite for clinicians who wish to be considered for faculty opportunities with KBB.

Do I need to renew? Yes. Your credential is required to be renewed every 3 years through a structured CEU and reflective practice process.

What if I don’t make the first cohort?

Applicants who are not accepted into the first cohort they apply for will automatically be placed on the waitlist for the next available cohort.

If an applicant is unable to join that next available cohort, they may defer their waitlist placement one time to the following cohort.

After one deferral, a new application may be required. The next cohort begins August 17th, 2026.

Can I get a refund if I can’t complete the Capstone?
